The
dedicated and caring staff of the Madelia Community Hospital Home
Care Department continues to provide services in the home to
patients in Madelia and surrounding areas. Services range from
professional nursing care and physician ordered therapies to
personal care and light housekeeping. All home care services are
provided under the direction of the client's physician. The home
health team works to promote, maintain or restore the client's
health. The goal is to minimize the effects of illness and
disability allowing the client to remain in the home setting.
Patient/family education and coordination of medical care is an
essential portion to the success of a client remaining in the home.
Payment for home care services varies depending on client condition
and qualifications. Payment for services may be provided by
Medicare, Medicaid, Waivered Services with the surrounding counties,
Private Insurance, Veteran’s Administration, Long Term Care
Insurance, or private payment. Home care is available seven days per
week and does provide 24 hour "on call" services to their clients.
