Auxiliary
The
Hospital Auxiliary was organized in March of 1955.
Ninety members attended the organizational meeting and Mrs.
W. J McCarthy was elected president.
Current membership stands a 158 with 12-15 people attending
the bimonthly meetings.
The purpose of the Auxiliary is to enhance the quality of
care received by the hospital patients.
Patient comfort is at the heart of Auxiliary projects.
The Auxiliary meets 6 times per year, the third Monday of February, April, June, August, October and December. At the meeting the members are updated on the needs of the hospital by administration and are given a short medical update. Coffee, treats and fellowship follow the meeting. The Auxiliary also has group Birthday parties for the residents at Amberfield.
Through the years the
organization has donated various items to the hospital with the
money that they earned through fundraisers and membership drives.
This past year the Auxiliary has provided the cable
television and background music for the hospital, purchased were IV
standards for nursing and a Wii balance program and recumbent
exercise bike for physical therapy.
The fundraisers this year were the membership drive and the
Tree of Remembrance.
Present officers
are Monique Hoffmann- President, Eltha Schultz- Vice president,
Elsie Pace- Secretary and Nylene Simpson- Treasurer.
Membership is open to anyone
who is interested in the enhancing the quality of care at Madelia
Hospital.
