Construction
of New Patient Room Addition

To demonstrate continued commitment to our community, Madelia Community
Hospital held a groundbreaking on October 19 for the $8
million expansion and renovation project.
Individuals representing Madelia, LaSalle, Lewisville,
Lake Crystal, Hanska, Vernon Center, St. James, seniors, the
Hispanic community, youth, families, patients, board members,
contractors, administrators, staff and former staff were
invited to participate in the ceremony.
“We value this community, and are absolutely committed to continuing to
provide residents with the highest quality, cutting edge
healthcare possible. The
project exemplifies our promise to be in tune to the
healthcare needs of our community and continue to meet them
with the personalized care they deserve,” stated MCH Board
President Steve Cooling.
A key element of the project is privacy, the
new rooms will be single rooms, but room size will accommodate
a second bed if needed. Studies
show that private rooms mean shorter hospital stays because
they are quieter and there's less chance of spreading
infection. The
patient rooms will be in the new wing, which will extend at an
angle to the east of the existing building.
A few of the current patient rooms will be remodeled
for staff offices and new technology needs.
Space utilization and floor plans were
also taken into consideration for both the patient and staff,
thereby improving patient flow while increasing staff
efficiency. An
expanded waiting area will offer more privacy for patients and
their loved ones.
Active
construction will begin on November 1st and will be
completed end of 2007. Please stop in if you would like more
information regarding your healthcare facility project. |
