Environmental Services Technician

Part time: Approximately 28 hrs per two-week pay period over 6 days (Additional hours may be available for filling in.)
Tuesday, Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; every other Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to noon. Earn up to $327 per two-week pay period.

Responsibilities: 

  • Clean offices and patient care areas following healthcare codes, rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Handle the facility linen, wash and refill linen closets.
  • Perform defined cleaning procedures using various chemicals and cleaning agents, supplies and equipment. 
  • Mop and vacuum. Dust and arrange furniture or equipment. 
  • Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, tubs and shower areas. Polish plumbing fixtures. 
  • Clean mirrors, light fixtures, doors, carpets and furniture. Wash or spot clean walls and remove stains and debris from floors, carpets and furniture. 
  • Remove, transport and dispose of trash. 
  • Replenish paper products, hand soap products and wastebasket liners as needed during routine cleaning procedures. 
  • Maintain housekeeping cart and utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition. 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous institutional or healthcare housekeeping/cleaning experience preferred, but we will train. 
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings and labels. 
  • Adequate strength, endurance and coordination to meet the strenuous physical demands of responsibilities. 
  • Ability to use computers and other electronic devices for timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Pharmacist – Lake Crystal Pharmacy

Lake Crystal Pharmacy will be opening in the spring of 2020 and is seeking a full-time pharmacist in charge.  The pharmacist will provide consulting services to customers regarding general healthcare advice, the effective usage of medications and recommendations of OTC products or supplies.  The pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the correct dispensation, review and verification of prescribed medications and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal aspects of the pharmacy in the role of PIC
  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting care, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assist in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management and enhance customer service
  • Supervision of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns and cashiers
  • Maintain current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy system
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare
  • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections
  • Ensure policies and procedures comply with MN Board of Pharmacy

Qualifications: 

  • RPh or PharmD degree
  • Current registration with the MN State Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacist in a community setting
  • Experience with Pioneer Rx (software system) preferred
  • Knowledge of MTM (Outcomes) preferred

Pharmacy Technician - Hospital

The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in providing medication, drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel. This position will include assisting with inventory of medication and supplies, refilling of Omnicell units, the accurate processing of daily charges, maintenance of dispensing records, and preparation of medications, including sterile IV solutions

 Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, label and deliver medications and supplies under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in aseptic technique in compounding of IV medications
  • Distribute completed orders appropriately
  • Audit medication storage areas for proper storage of medications, fill and distribute routine stock orders for patient care areas
  • Ensure correct billing of all manually billed items from patient care areas. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
  • Current registration (CPhT) with the MN State Board of Pharmacy
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Knowledge of USP 787/800 requirements preferred

Lead Paramedic

MCHC is looking for a trained paramedic to be part of our team of health care professionals attending primarily out-of-hospital medical incidents, inter-facility transfers, and in-house clinical assistance to patient care services. MCHC recently partnered with the City of Madelia to manage the Ambulance Service for the community. We are looking for a team member that can provide the advanced level of patient care that our patients and partners have come to expect from MCHC. Responsibilities:

  • Operate ambulance equipment and respond to radio transmissions
  • Lead and coordinate the team responding to an emergency
  • Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform a preliminary diagnosis
  • Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital simple and advanced treatments (first aid, CPR, administering injections and oxygen, etc.) or surgical procedures
  • Use tech equipment and tools to stabilize patients or provide immediate treatment
  • Monitor patient’s condition en route to the hospital
  • Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors, etc.)
  • Write and submit concrete and accurate reports on incidents
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards
  • Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training 
  • Lead in developing the call schedule with the volunteer EMT’s. 
  • Be an active member in the Trauma review team

Qualifications: Current certification as Nationally Registered Paramedic and current Minnesota Paramedic Licensure/Certification. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider, CPR certification, and ACLS. Current ITLS or PHTLS, and PALS or must be obtained within six months of hire.
