RN – Hospital

Emergency Medical Technician - Basic


MCHC is looking for a trained Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) to be part of our team of health care professionals attending primarily out-of-hospital medical incidents, interfacility transfers, and in-house clinical assistance to patient care services. MCHC recently partnered with the City of Madelia to manage the Ambulance Service for the community. To be effective in the job, the ideal candidate must be very competent and knowledgeable as well as self-motivated and compassionate. The goal is simply to contribute the best you can to help people in need and save lives. 

In the EMT role, you will provide BLS transport care to patients during inter-facility transfers and respond to 911 calls as necessary. This is a full time benefit eligible position working all shifts.


  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
  • Assists ALS staff in emergent and non-emergent responses as deemed necessary.
  • Transports patients safely according to clinical and operational guidelines.
  • Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
  • Safely and efficiently transfers care of patients to other care providers in appropriate setting (LTC, Hospital & etc.)
  • Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training 
  • Be an active member in the Trauma review team


  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B) from MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board.

Environmental Services Technician

Part time: Approximately 28 hrs per two-week pay period over 6 days (Additional hours may be available for filling in.)
Tuesday, Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; every other Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to noon. Earn up to $327 per two-week pay period.


  • Clean offices and patient care areas following healthcare codes, rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Handle the facility linen, wash and refill linen closets.
  • Perform defined cleaning procedures using various chemicals and cleaning agents, supplies and equipment. 
  • Mop and vacuum. Dust and arrange furniture or equipment. 
  • Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, tubs and shower areas. Polish plumbing fixtures. 
  • Clean mirrors, light fixtures, doors, carpets and furniture. Wash or spot clean walls and remove stains and debris from floors, carpets and furniture. 
  • Remove, transport and dispose of trash. 
  • Replenish paper products, hand soap products and wastebasket liners as needed during routine cleaning procedures. 
  • Maintain housekeeping cart and utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition. 


  • Previous institutional or healthcare housekeeping/cleaning experience preferred, but we will train. 
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings and labels.

Pharmacist – Lake Crystal Pharmacy

Lake Crystal Pharmacy will be opening in the spring of 2020 and is seeking a full-time pharmacist in charge.  The pharmacist will provide consulting services to customers regarding general healthcare advice, the effective usage of medications and recommendations of OTC products or supplies.  The pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the correct dispensation, review and verification of prescribed medications and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. 


  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal aspects of the pharmacy in the role of PIC
  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting care, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assist in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management and enhance customer service
  • Supervision of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns and cashiers

Pharmacy Technician - Hospital

The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in providing medication, drug information and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel. This position will include assisting with inventory of medication and supplies, refilling of Omnicell units, the accurate processing of daily charges, maintenance of dispensing records, and preparation of medications, including sterile IV solutions


  • Prepare, label and deliver medications and supplies under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in aseptic technique in compounding of IV medications
  • Distribute completed orders appropriately
  • Audit medication storage areas for proper storage of medications, fill and distribute routine stock orders for patient care areas
